    The less heat and power usage.
    The price ever drops the price ever drops the price ever drops the more powerful after seeing crysis play on mini itx motherboard its just matter of time till desktops get smaller.

    No way will they be tablets. Tablets are awful. I think there will be a break in laptops: very large and very light.

    The HDX is one of Hp’s best selling laptops, and it’s 16 pounds and 3000 dollars. Then again, their 7″ screen laptop is doing well too. It’s getting polarized. I think we’ll continue to see this trend. Hardcore users will want the HDX-like machines, but with more power, less weight, and bigger screens. heh… 60″ fold able laptop will be our downfall.

    All those you mentioned (even better specs) are already available.

    In 2~3 years something like
    * Quad core processors with 10MB L2 cache
    * 8GB DDR3 Memory
    * Multi core (2 or more) single chip GPUs with 512 stream processors + 2GB very high speed on board video RAM
    * 250GB+ SSD drive
    * Blue Ray burner
    * Full HD LED touch sensitive screen
    * 5 Hr battery time
    * All this in a 14′1″ chassis

    Would be standard, is my guess ;-)
