When shopping for a Dell laptop, I’m faced with the option of a Dell wireless card or a Dell wireless mobile broadband card.

What’s the difference between the two?

Thanks.

I bought the card from dell to work on my dell computer. I am thinking of getting a new toshiba laptop. Will the mobile broadband card work with the toshiba since I will be keeping the service provider or will I need a new card?
It is a slide in card for the PCMCI slot.

I would like to know which of the following Wireless internet features would be available BY DEFAULT in a laptop(i.e. we do not need to buy any extra peripheral to include the feature):
1. WiFi
2. WiMax
3.Bluetooth

For those of the above which requires any extra peripheral to include the feature please indicate what peripheral to add.

I gathered these from multiple stores, and i added the best options from each laptop, so far i couldn’t find a laptop that just has all best options. Talk about prices reaching above $5000! for just 1 or 2 differences from other laptops that cost 1/2 less. If i wanted to spend more than $2000 on a laptop i’d rather get all the best current technology in it, any help with that? I don’t play games, I just need it for multitasking and 1080p video via H.264 .mkv files, and for 3D medical simulation programs. I hate over heating laptops, and ones that lag when a few tasks are open. Anywhere I could find such a thing that also ships international?

I was wondering whether I would need 2 lines on my phone service; one for my cell and the other for mobile broadband. Thank you for your answer!

My laptop fried and I want to wait for the Montieva line of processors comming in 2008 with Wimax.. I need a temporary cheap laptop. A friend has a new acer T2080 and it sucks big time.. my old celeron 933 with less ram is faster. Should I go for a fast Celeron 2.0 mhz or a dual core running at 1.6mhz. ?

Any recommendation for a laptop under $ 600 would be appreciated :)
